About Educare: Educare provides early childhood education to children and families. It’s primary focus is a community’s most vulnerable children and families, particularly families living in poverty.
Brief: Design a three-dimensional wall that visually interprets the mission of Educare.

While designing the Discovery Wall, the goal was to carry the concept from the exterior and into central corridor of the building where it would end at the elementary school connection. This reinforced the conceptual representation of a child’s development and transition into the next stage of learning.
Like most architecture projects, the design of this space required great collaboration between most disciplines involved in the building design and construction.
From the exterior, the graphic starts as geometric forms and transitions into more organic and flowing shapes by the end. Circles that were used throughout the landscape are cut out at a child’s level so they can experience the wall in a different way than adults.
