Grand Island
Readiness Center

Client: Nebraska Army National Guard

Brief: The Army National Guard, Grand Island Readiness Center was a new construction project designed to train soldiers in helicopter aviation. The helicopter aviation concept is carried throughout the entire space, including architecture, landscape, and graphics.

As you enter the space, subtle experiential graphics represent helicopter flight patterns span the entire wall and glass.

The history wall represents the service of the Guard in a way that informs the public and the soldiers. It was designed to blending seamlessly into the architecture concept of helicopter aviation. Conceptually, the sawtooth design of the wall represents the rotation of helicopter rotors. The panoramic background of the wall depicts mountains, plains, desert, forest, and the terrain of many of the Nebraska ARNG’s campaigns.
